My 2016: a year in travel photos

2016 was yet another amazing year full of wonderful travels. As per last year, and years before, 2016 began in sunny San Diego. We hiked the mountains and shopped the malls. We were also invited by Lego to visit the Legoland theme park!

March 2016 took us to Hong Kong once again to visit family. And to make this trip and Hong Kong even more memorable, this was also where Carl proposed.

In April and dedicated to my annual. “once a year go somewhere you’ve never been before” goal, we headed to South Korea and what an experience that was. We ate so much good food and walked for miles. We averaged 30,000 steps per day according to my fitbit.

Coming back from those trips with a bit of the post-vacation blues, work sent me off to Las Vegas in May for the Marketo summit. Of course, I convinced Carl to come along. We shopped the outlets, watched shows that I’ve always wanted to see and of course, attend the ever valuable Marketo Summit.

In between, we visited many parts of our city, Toronto, hung out with friends and tried out many different up and coming restaurants.

Then in August we flew to Los Angeles to see Adele in concert. A big check mark off my Bucket List. She was everything and more. We also made a road trip to the beautiful Santa Monica and San Diego to visit Carl’s parents. While we’ve been to San Diego many, many times, this trip is where we fell in love. We went anywhere and everywhere exploring places we’ve never been before and rediscovering places we overlooked.

From August on wards we became a bit stagnant. Between work and wedding plans left us very little time to travel. We planned for Iceland and we planned for New York but none of those trips worked out. However, we did find time for a short road trip to Montreal and Quebec in October to relive some of our 8th grade memories.

I want to end the year by appreciating the sunsets 2016 also showed us, some of the most breathtaking views from around the world.

While we haven’t been on the road on the later part of the year, we know 2017 will be another big year for us! We already have San Diego lined up in February with a cruise to Mexico. A week at the cottage with my entire family when they come in August after the wedding and hopefully a fun filled, romantic honeymoon…yet to be planned.

I wish you another year of safe travels and happiness. Happy New Year!
