Part 2: Self-Guided Food Crawl Harbourfront – Toronto, ON

In part 2 of this 2 part blog post, we explore Habourfront in Toronto, Ontario. I’ll and introduce you to a few delicious food spots we tried in celebration of our 3rd wedding anniversary 🙂

Remember to shop small and support your local businesses!

  • Immersive Van Gogh Experience – We went to the walk-through Van Gogh experience where we sat in one of the projected circles on the floor and watched his paintings get projected on the walls with music. To be honest, if you’ve been to TeamLab Borderless in Japan, this exhibition can be a little bit…underwhelming.
  • Stackt Market – If you follow this blog, you know I love local markets and supporting small businesses. This Stackt Market showcases 20+ local artists and shops for you to explore. There was a little booth there that sold replication of vintage maps that I really liked!
  • Radisson Admiral Hotel  – Carl booked the Radisson Admiral Hotel by Harbourfront this year and we had a great view of Lake Ontario. The only thing is that due to COVID they didn’t offer room service so bright and early in the morning, he walked over to Evviva Breakfast and Lunch to get us brunch 🙂 And we got to enjoy it with a lake view, just like last year.
  • Touti Cafe – The Sweet spot – A beautiful summer date isn’t complete without some gelato. Touti Cafe was right by our hotel and as we walked back from the Stackt Market, we stopped by Touti Cafe for some delicious gelato. They had so many amazing flavours to choose from!
  • Evviva Breakfast and Lunch – For breakfast, Carl got us what we get from any brunch restaurants that offers it – fried chicken and waffle for him and smoked salmon eggs benny for me. And of course, brunch isn’t complete without a latte. He got me a latte from Cafè Locale located at the lobby of the hotel.
  • Kekou – I never say no to Kekou when we pass by. They offer gelato with an asian twist and I always get milk tea and thai iced tea flavour from them. Because unlike other gelato places, it actually tastes like the drink.
  • CANO Restaurant – As an official celebration dinner for our 3rd wedding anniversary, we ate at CANO, mainly because I saw so many pictures of their burrata on Instagram and they lived up to the hype! A cute little Italian restaurant and the first time we dined in anywhere since March. I had their burrata, and gnocchi that had the texture of little fluffy clouds.
Note: this is not listed on the map as it was in Little Italy and is not walkable distance, also not to be mistaken for Canoe.

And of course, it’s not a trip by Harbourfront without visiting our celebrity dog friend, Oscar the Maltese and his dadager, Dan LOL.

While we’re now into our second(?) lockdown, it’s important to continue to shop small and support your local businesses any way you can!
